Upon being introduced to The CODE Group through a facilitated board meeting focused on equity by Jessica and Chris, leadership of HOPE, a non-profit organization presenting a new framework that centers the role of positive childhood experiences, engaged The CODE Group for similar support to their National Advisory Board. The organization had some preliminary conversations around issues of race and equity and thought it best to have support in having those conversations as they moved forward.
The CODE Group met with HOPE leadership and came up with a strategy to “break the ice” by introducing The CODE Group during the next virtual national board meeting allowing The CODE Group to set the stage for deeper dialogue at the following in-person national advisory board meeting.
The CODE group successfully facilitated both meetings for the HOPE Foundation. Allowing them to navigate through some difficult conversations, begin to discuss strategies to address the topics and develop the organizational anti-racism statement.
